So the first play-off game was against our old friends the Inny's and Outy's, so you can probably guess what kind of temper the game would have.

After getting shutout the last 2 games the Inny's were determined for this not to happen again and with only 3 girls the Meanies had to start shorthanded. It didn’t take long for the Inny's to destroy the third straight shutout. Returning from having 2 teeth knocked out last game it was Ilya that got the Inny's on the board. It took three minutes but The Meanies equalised by a nice tip in by D Prue. Good work on the blue line from Acton and the returning More saw his shot deflected by Prue to make it 1-1. Next Prue became provider as he set up Kenny in front of goal for him to stab over the second of the game for the Meanies 2-1. Tyler was his usual self, being everywhere on the ice and getting under everyone’s skin. He and Acton combined well to allow Briske to score at the back post to make it 3-1 with 11 minutes to play. It was at this point the Inny's kind of lost control, next minute Tyler just got cross-checked from behind for no reason and the Inny's player was hitting the showers. So the period ended 3-1 and the Meanies needed to keep their foot on the gas.

The second period started and it didn’t take long for the Meanies to extend their lead, a good pass to D Prue from Jones allowed him to skate and make no mistake top shelf, 4-1. Briske was next to become provider as good work on the boards allowed her to get the puck to Kenny who shot from distance for his second of the game. Briske again was in a providing move as she battled behind the goal to get the puck to the high slot where Jones actually controlled it, took his time and made sure his shot went in. The Inny's ended the period with a goal but it looked like the game was past them.

Now Tyler had done everything so far but score, so it was time for him to get his shit together. His first came from great work by More to keep the puck in which allowed Tyler all the time in the world to pick his spot, which he did excellently, next it was Jones carrying the puck in down the right, the pinpoint pass into the high slot just missed Lougheed but she gathered it up and centred to Tyler who put his second and the 8th of the game away.

So the second game looms and the Meanies need to make sure they don’t let off and come out strong and fast
